One of the Last Great Roadhouses!
When you “belly up to the bar” at the Mine Shaft Tavern you will be served from the longest stand-up bar in New Mexico!
In 1944 the construction of the Mine Shaft Tavern was begun, the last of the “company town” buildings erected. The 40 ft. lodge pole pine bar, as well as most of the furnishings you see, were here in 1946 when the Tavern first opened its doors. While the Tavern is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, little has changed since the mining heydays.
Egg & Pancake Breakfast Specialties, Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Burgers & Sandwiches, as well as a full menu of traditional Northern New Mexican cuisine are the food offerings and the bar drinks will definitely include your favorite cocktail. Some local favorites and unusual cocktails may become your new drink of choice! Check out their event calendar for a list of the current entertainers.
