Fall & Winter in
  Santa Fe County

Santa Fe County is fabulous in Fall and wonderful in Winter. Cool days are followed by crisp evenings, the golden aspen trees in Hyde Park and the ski basin call out for exploration, teasing snow already tips the mountains, and days of crisp blue skies and sunsets like nowhere else abound. Fall hiking trails reveal breathtaking sights of color at every turn. Enjoy visiting modern art galleries, skiing, exploring ancient ruins,
a leisurely afternoon cocktail or a pint of local micro-brew. Take in one of the lively contemporary music venues or simply stroll under star-strewn skies. End the day with a hot-tub in the cool mountain air, then venture out for a green chile-seasoned meal at the surprisingly large number of 4 and 5-star restaurants throughout the area to warm your way to sleep. Santa Fe County truly is “No Place Like Home!” However you decide to spend your days and nights, you’ll always remember Fall & Winter in Santa Fe County.

The Mineshaft Tavern

One of the Last Great Roadhouses!

Mine Shaft TavernWhen you “belly up to the bar” at the Mine Shaft Tavern you will be served from the longest stand-up bar in New Mexico!

In 1944 the construction of the  Mine Shaft Tavern was begun, the last of the “company town” buildings erected. The 40 ft. lodge pole pine bar, as well as most  of the furnishings you see, were here in 1946 when the Tavern first opened its doors. While the Tavern is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, little has changed since the mining heydays.

Egg & Pancake Breakfast Specialties, Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Burgers & Sandwiches, as well as a full menu of traditional Northern New Mexican cuisine are the food offerings and the bar drinks will definitely include your favorite cocktail. Some local favorites and unusual cocktails may become your new drink of choice!

Check out their event calendar for a list of the current entertainers.
